A reminder that Oxfordshire has also very successfully rolled out 20mph in a rural county with exceptionally limited political pushback. I really don't think this is talked about enough. Are your Cllrs refusing 20mph cos "Our LA isn't London"? Tell them about Oxfordshire! Happy to share policy docs.

Technology should not be introduced at the expense of pedestrian freedom to use the highway safely and conveniently. We need to make sure that the most vulnerable road users are protected and prioritised so that our streets work for all.

Rachel Reeves is right that the world has changed - so why wonβt she change her strategy to reflect it? Rigid adherence to arbitrary fiscal rules & refusing wealth taxes is a political choice thatβs causing huge pain & harm, as well as laying out the welcome mat for the populists at Reform UK

The switch to 20mph roads in Wales meant:
π’ 100 fewer dead or seriously injured
π’ 26% fewer injured
π’ The lowest 3 month casualty figure since records began 46 years ago
That's in just the first year. Real lives saved, real families spared a lifetime of pain and hardship.
Healthy societies canβt afford billionaires. Every single one is a policy failure.
'Trickle down' economics has never worked. It's nothing more than a way for the rich to hoard ever more wealth while everyone else struggles to get by.
There is a better way. π

20mph in Wales meant about 100 fewer people killed or seriously injured in a year.
βThere is, perhaps, a lesson here for politicians: sometimes it can be best to ignore the noisiest voices, and take the evidence-based course.β

How many times do we have to say it? *Austerity doesnβt work*. More cuts to public spending is economically illiterate and morally indefensible - people didnβt vote Labour to get more Tory austerity. FFS tax extreme wealth, donβt slash public services @patmillsuk.bsky.social

Labour cuts, Tory cuts, it's always the rest of us who pay the price.
The Green Party would tax the rich properly to help close the inequality gap.

This is how our government has been corrupted:Β
1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.Β
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.Β
3) Donors make a huge profit.Β
4) Repeat.
For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.
Cuts to public services and welfare are wrong β and unnecessary.
The government could tax extreme wealth and close loopholes instead.

Fiona Bruce jokes when Richard Tice keeps interrupting that she might have to put a gag on him.
How about we stop having Reform on every single TV and radio show possible and constantly giving them a platform?
It's so obviously disproportionate. And it's constant.
