My 'colony' of 11 ferals are on to their 3rd breakfast at the moment!

I remember seeing some of the first kites over from Wales during the re-introduction campaign. This was about 25 years ago, over the ancient woodland on Cheddar Hill in Somerset. Amazing sight!
RSPB says the Uk now has about 17% of the world's population of red kites.

I've read that the kites are spreading along the motorways and main roads, as they are scavengers rather than predators and are feeding on roadkill. Is this correct?

Today here in Spain I was sitting in a square & a brown / white pigeon walked past. It then walked to the edge of the pavement, checked to see if any cars were coming and walked across the road to join some others. Do you think it had forgotten it could just fly over? 😁
