also Biehn gets Oceangated so hard in this movie lol

I guess it's a decent pivot Cameron does a benevolent alien movie (or extra-terrestrial at least) after all the mean horror of Aliens. Albeit I think Contact does that sort of stuff way better

I guess it's cool Cameron does a "the dress is blue / the dress is white & gold" bit when cutting some nuclear bomb wires lol

well that was...interesting. Though if I'm rewatching an "underwater sub, don't drop nuclear bombs on each other" movie, probably sticking with Hunt for Red October

Again another cool change Biehn gets to be the heel this time. He's basically playing the Walton Goggins role

funny this movie basically has thr Armageddon set up (salt of the earth blue collar workers get recruited for big military rescue mission)

NW: my quest for find some passable post-T2 Terminator content has at last led me here

this movie does definitely get a little syrupy in a way I can understand someone preferring the beautiful cold hard circularity of the first movie

that being said I live for the syrupy shit, Cameron turning John into Elliott at the end of ET at the end there

do love Sarah finding herself going Terminator mode against Dyson such a great role reversal (Morton is fantastic in this)

I think I heard one of the trailers tipped people off too. Sad because that seems a slam dunk surprise

Mamdani's line that billionaires spent more to oppose his candidacy than he proposed to tax them really says it all.

Like a company that shuts down a profitable location as soon as it unionizes. The principle of maintaining control is more important.

I think I said before but what I would give to be a 1991 cinemagoer going in unspoiled for that Arnie reveal

I do buy the take that Sarah realises Kyle is John's father even before she sleeps with him (or just as)

as part of the generation mostly familiar with T2 it shocked me just how shy & naive Sarah is in this. makes me even more impressed with the sequel pulling off the pivot

I'm not surprised Cameron wanted to do an Alien follow-up after Terminator both are basically slasher movies

"Vince Gilligan's Leftovers" is a concept basically there to unlock a good portion of the internet's brains in a very specific way
