I obviously played it a bunch of times as a kid, but it's been roughly 2 years since I last played FFVI and I found myself humming the town theme today apropos of nothing at all.

So, I'm the opposite -- I'm old and I've been in and out of the game since the 90s. Commander never vibed with me and I pretty much only play standard and limited formats. Even placed decently a few times in tourneys back in the day.

It's a series that almost... redefined? That's not quite the word but it's close... the way I think about how magic can be a part of worldbuilding.

Gladstone writes a world OF magic, not just a world that happens to have magic in it.
