Detroit has come a long way. Being a Detroit native, I've seen some things, but downtown is nice during the summer. I say check it out.

Forests have a healthy influence on us. Not only do trees filter our air, the sight of a tree lowers our stress level. The air in a coniferous forest is particularly germ-free and even anti-inflammatory due to the many essential oils they emit - comparable to a natural antibiotic

Do you think at least in the United States, people will finally realize this?

I'm definitely down with the Tragically Hip, but I hope Michigan is cool enough to be accepted by Team Canada.

The forest floor is inhabited by a large number of soil organisms that exhibit a great diversity of species. These are, for example, fungi, bacteria, insects and worms, to name but a few. We need more forests again after we have destroyed 50% of the forests in the last 100 years.
