ah well i have already studied genetics in my bsc. But very interested in psychology- fields don't separate into categories irl. What I want to do with my life is make comics and be helpful with others' mh😭art therapy is a good combination- maybe i should consider training. thanks for the thought🤔

Tbf we're kinda to blame with "be a lawyer, doctor, engineer".

I'm constructively highlighting areas of the field that maybe need work- not the amazing people who do so much to help and who I'd be so much worse off without.

But yeah sometimes psychology advice can make things worse because of a gap in understanding and also because the field itself is Eurocentric. Again, I'm not hating on therapists at all. If I was supposed to help say a Chinese person in a culturally sensitive way there is no way I'd be able to.

Psychology is a very Eurocentric field and often doesn't serve people from collectivist cultures. I'm not hating on therapists btw- I'm incredibly indebted to amazing therapists that I've met who have helped me tremendously.
