casual reminder that most of canada's print media is owned by an american company that is owned by an american hedge fund with ties to donald trump.

The same firm ran a campaign to save CBC — and Canada Proud's push to defund it “It's like the Trump administration promoting Biden in an ad campaign,” said Ahmed Al-Rawi, Director of the Disinformation Project at Simon Fraser University. “This is unreal, like science fiction.”

A PR firm hired to produce ads in support of the CBC is the same firm that has, for years, been calling for the public broadcaster to be defunded through its right-wing Canada Proud Facebook pages, a @rorywh.bsky.social investigation finds.

If the US government were bending over backwards to defend masked ICE agents murdering a woman in cold blood any harder they'd qualify for the fucking Olympics.

The Dunning-Kruger Effect -a cognitive bias where people with low ability overestimate their competence, while experts often underestimate theirs, because the less skilled lack the self-awareness to recognize their own shortcomings, and experts understand the vastness of what they don't know. This bias leads to poor judgment, as incompetent individuals mistakenly believe they perform better than they do.   And. y’all thought science couldn’t explain life here in the upside down.
