A square watercolor painting on paper depicting an abstract landscape. The top half is dominated by shades of blue and white, suggesting a sky or clouds. The bottom half features a mix of green and brown, possibly representing land or foliage. Two small red-brown spots are visible in the upper half.
A small, rectangular watercolor painting depicting a sunset landscape. The sky is rendered in warm tones of orange and red, transitioning to a green and brown foreground with a silhouetted tree on the left. The painting is framed by a thin white border.
A watercolor painting of a whimsical garden scene featuring three flowers β one large purple flower with yellow details, a smaller blue flower, and a smaller purple flower. A red and pink butterfly is positioned in the upper right corner. The background is a soft, light wash. The painting is framed by a thin white border.
I donβt like the way social media makes it look like everything is going well all the time. So here are some of my paintings that did not turn out so well.

A small, rectangular watercolor painting shows a collection of abstract, organic shapes in a variety of blended colors, including blues, purples, yellows, and deep reds. The colors are applied with a loose, wet-on-wet technique, creating soft edges and a sense of fluidity. In the upper right corner, two stylized butterflies, one in shades of purple and the other in blue, are painted with a slightly more defined line.
A square watercolor painting features a series of geometric shapes, including triangles and rectangles, in shades of blue, yellow, purple, and orange. The shapes are arranged diagonally across the canvas, creating a dynamic composition. Within one section, a sunset scene is depicted with soft washes of orange and pink, against which a flock of silhouetted birds is flying. In another section, a silhouette of a pine tree stands against a similar sunset backdrop. On the left side, a detailed leaf with segmented petals in shades of red and green is painted. The painting is done on textured paper, adding depth and visual interest.
A square watercolor painting depicts an abstract cloudy sky using soft, blended washes of purple, gray, and pale yellow. The colors are applied in a wet-on-wet technique, creating a sense of depth and atmospheric perspective. The darker purple and gray tones suggest cloud formations, while the lighter yellow areas hint at a distant light source or clearing. The painting is done on textured paper, adding to the subtle variation in color and texture.
A grid of four small, square watercolor paintings, each depicting a layered mountain landscape. The top left painting features mountains in shades of blue, the top right in shades of brown, the bottom left in muted shades of green and brown, and the bottom right in dark shades of blue and black. Each painting uses a similar composition, with layers of mountains receding into the distance, creating a sense of depth and atmospheric perspective. The paintings are done on textured paper and arranged in a 2x2 grid.
Here are some more of my recent paintings. Iβve been trying to paint at least a little every day

A square watercolor painting depicting a dark, silhouetted hill on the left, leading to a body of water on the right. The sky above transitions from pink at the top to a light blue-gray near the horizon. A dark, silhouetted line of grass and flowers is at the bottom.
A square watercolor painting depicts a field of loosely rendered flowers in soft blues, purples, and oranges. The flowers have a slightly blurry, dreamlike quality. A tiny, detailed bee is flying in the upper left corner, and a small red butterfly with black markings is fluttering in the upper right. The background is a pale wash of pink, and the painting is done on textured paper.
A square watercolor painting shows a dark, silhouetted hill sloping down on the left, meeting a body of water that transitions from a dark blue at the top to a vibrant purple at the bottom. The sky above is a soft, pale pink, suggesting dusk or dawn. On the right, a darker, silhouetted landmass is visible, with a small patch of white hinting at a wave or foam breaking against the shore. The painting is done on textured paper, adding to the depth and atmosphere.

Watercolour painting blue and yellow sky with a black bird, side of a mountain, green ground with brown blades of plants. Very beginner
Watercolour painting, pink and purple background, center line of land with trees and grass
Made my first two paintings. (Theyβre bookmarks) Mixed feeling. π Lessons learned: gonna need to use a heat gun or hairdryer cuz patience is not my thing and donβt over do it. The mountain one had only a few plants at the front and it looked good but I overthought it and added more and like it less.

A mug with hot chocolate and whipped cream, and a plate with a large freshly baked cinnamon roll with icing and custard.
A wooden structure with a snow cave next to it. In the foreground there are prepared cross-country ski tracks. The scenery is heavily obscured in fog.
There are many reasons why I needed to go on a 9km ski trip today. The hot chocolate and bun were definitely the most important.

AURORA - Full Performance (Live on KEXP)
I watched this video of Aurora β₯οΈ performing for my hometown radio kexp and was so moved by her conversation about how the world has seemingly stopped following its heart and often chooses power over compassion and care. Itβs why I feel so disconnected all the time.
How do we find our way back?

Sliced up banana bread
Slice of banana bread with coconut yoghurt, raspberry and chia jam, and sliced banana on top
In the new year I like to ask myself: What do I want to add to my life to feel more connected and fulfilled? This year I decided I wanted to be less reliant on pre-made/pre-packaged foods and learn to make more for myself.
Last nights new recipe: cardamom banana bread with homemade jam. Delicious!
