How the dollar-store industry overcharges cash-strapped customers while promising low prices A Guardian investigation reveals Dollar General and Family Dollar stores often fail to honor their shelf prices – charging more at checkout for everything from frying pans to Frosted Flakes

My least favorite task working at Circuit City was switching out the price tags, my store's managers cared a lot about it and made sure it got done. Automated solutions fix one problem but make worse things possible. Apparently dollar stores don't care.

You want a psychologically safe culture? Don’t let people get away with making it unsafe. A high performing culture? Don’t let people get away with poor quality work. etc.

Obviously, the idea that Article II contains an unreviewable human trafficking power to send people, without charge or conviction, into indefinite involuntary servitude in any foreign land willing to receive them on those terms annihilates the remainder of the constitution.

I saw advice to buy extra cans of food when you’re at the grocery store to donate to the food bank.

I want to politely nudge you to give the money directly to food banks (or to mutual aid groups if you know of any).

We can usually stretch a dollar farther than a dollar’s worth of canned goods

I’m sorry but if your students use AI to write papers and you use AI to grade them zero school is happening. You are running together on a hamster wheel

Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.

Our biggest problem as a society is we've decided wealth is a proxy for intelligence -- when in reality, an overabundance of money causes your brain to cease functioning

4. A government where people are afraid to criticize the policies of its leaders, fearing retribution, is not characteristic of a democracy. The right "to petition the Government for a redress of grievances" is enshrined in the Constitution.

He throws up a nice straw-man. Whether or not MIT considered Wikipedia as a reliable academic source or not has nothing to do with one’s responsibility to properly attribute their sources.
