So I’m trying something new: short form video! Here’s me making the case for why @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social has the experience, values, skills, and policies that will help all of us in Seattle thrive.

Just wanna highlight that Seattle Public Schools teacher salaries start at just over $60,000, less than half what a new Seattle police officer will make after six months under the new contract.

Cops get bonuses for two-year associate degrees; teachers, of course, have to have finished college.

If you use Sling for TV and are currently hitting error hell while trying to watch the Mariners game tonight (thanks AWS), logging in through the Fox Sports app seems to be working.

Get used to seeing that Bruce Harrell TV ad: the PAC that paid for it to be produced just reported spending nearly $700,000 to run ads through election day.

I doubt much of this system is even AI (and therefore more deterministic.) It's a high speed camera and figuring out where the ball is in the image (maybe barely machine learning). I'm all for it.

Seattle deserves real action, not embellishment. I am running to bring real solutions to our homelessness crisis β€” not fudge the numbers. #thisisyourcity

A PAC supporting Bruce Harrell has now raised more than $1 million from wealthy donors, and soon they will use it to attack me so that our city stays unaffordable. With less than a month until election day, I want to make a few things clear. #thisisyourcity

06.10.2025 16:18 β€” πŸ‘ 186    πŸ” 57    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 8

Oh look, another example of Harrell’s terrible management skills

Tiffany Washington, Deputy Mayor for Homelessness, refused to fill hotel rooms that the city paid for. Reason? She doesn’t like the program lead

Not the first time Washington has acted in favor of more homelessness, either

The Making of Katie Wilson She’s coming for the mayor’s office.

People talk a lot about experience. Katie Wilson has a lot of it. Construction worker, busker, boat repairer, organizer, and hopefully next month, mayor. Great profile of @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social:

I’m voting for @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social, the candidate who won’t illegally remove bus lanes funded by federal grants to pander to car dealerships.

Harrell is *desperate* to please his donors in any way possible. This is one of the dumbest ways I’ve seen.

This new Seattle women's shelter is unconventional, but it's working Women at Donna Jean's Place can reserve their bed for the next night, indefinitely. No one is required to get sober or apply for housing. Patience is the point.

Providing a temporary bed without making people jump through a million hoops shouldn't be "remarkable," but it isβ€”as the story notes, we invest heavily in shelters that erect barriers to entry, denying access to people who need stability most urgently.

@petebuttigieg.bsky.social Did you even talk with @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social before endorsing Bruce Harrell? All he's succeeded in doing is taking homeless folks' tents. He hasn't actually helped them. They are still homeless. He can't get anything done because he's unwilling to tax the rich.

We have a separate outer heap that uses TLSF for allocations. It allows a dma_capable attribute to influence if the allocation is in PSRAM or internal RAM.

It's the same cost as the FTB table (1 bit per block) and the benefit is huge. It is configurable so small memory systems can turn it off.

If you’re tracking a bill in the legislature, be sure to use a hashtag in the bill number and #waleg to make the conversation searchable!

For example, on the small-elevator bill, use #SB5156 and #waleg.

A new even-numbered years election bill has been filed in #Waleg by Rep. Mia Gregerson. It would allow cities, towns, and special purpose districts to voluntarily transition to even-numbered year elections for elected positions. app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?...

While we wait to reconvene, here's a quick primer on the bill process: Bills get introduced by sponsors and referred to a policy committee. The sponsor's job is to get the committee chair to schedule the bill for a hearing. Once a bill is heard, the sponsor tries to get it "exec'd" #waleg

Here's a segment of Mayor Harrell's proposed "corridor upzones" superimposed on the Costco parking lot, to scale. I'm pretty sure people are willing to walk more than 35 seconds to get to a shop.
