The game needs this though, to be able to populate with new/random sims. That's how it works. There's mods trying to stop that, but it's at your own risk really. I just delete them if they get too much.

So games like the Sims are a perfect mix of technology and creativity! So messing about with mods and finding out how the game ticks are not very annoying or overwhelming for me personally. Some people feel personally attacked if there's a bug or a glitch and scream bloody murder.

And with the onset of the internet now there's a good chance someone already had this issue and solved it, only have to find it really. I also did tech support for Nokia back in the day, and for a software company. Later did second line support for them. I went to art school though heh.

That's maybe true. I'm Ancient, born in last part of the 70's and we had a PC at home very early on because my dad was a programmer ( what we called a dev )and was always taking it a part and studying it. From him I inherited the mindset that anything is fixable really, and not to panic at tech 😄

I do like it, B&H and I've played a LOT with it. But the combo of retail and residential messes with the autonomy of household sims a LOT and that makes it a bit messy to play with sometimes. Overall I'm really happy with it though. You can charge, which you can't with Getaways.

Good thread about how to manage your game and lessen the chance of save/game corruption!
Now that the game is growing bigger and bigger with each EP, it's a good idea to not bloat saves too much.
There's always a limit to everything... even the Sims 4.

Onedrive is the bane of my existence. People have so many issues with the game that stem from their saves ( and mods!) being on a cloud service ( someone else's computer) and they blame EA for. Often people don't have the space or are not even aware that it's not saving on their PC.

Sims 3 is very different really than 2 and 4, and I'm always on the fence about it. It's so empty and has so many issues because of the Open world, it feels like more work. It's harder to do legacy families but it's also very funny and versatile.
But 2 and 4 are my favorites and play the most.

One is more a 'game' in the old sense of the word and can be very challenging, and Sims 4 is more like a dollhouse where you make your own story/game really. Both are good in their own way really. We don't have to choose, but play them both and enjoy what they have to offer. It's not a contest.

I'm trying to do this with a wedding I think! Just do a whole weekend for the family, from rehearsal dinner to wedding ceremony ( just use the elope option) and the reception afterwards. That way sims FINALLY will do what I want them to do at certain times and no one pees themselves ha.

I think with this pack we have so many options that it's a bit overwhelming at first really and through gameplay we will find more ways to utilize the tools they've now given us.
You can also use it for a wedding really. Just set up the wedding as a getaway and use the 'elope' function.

Yeah when you change it the game gets confused and just does whatever and randoms start showing up. Traveling ( yet again lol) solves this issue. It's like resetting the lot basically.

Maybe it's also the activities themselves, I had the staff and the host cook/clean and the guests to archery/eat/paint/have showers. I'll have to test with the bar as that ( also an issue on normal bar venues) seems to be an issue in itself where they don't take orders from customers.

Anything you add to a vanilla game ( also Gshade etc) kan break the game or can cause issues. People just don't want to do without these though, and have a tantrum when others tell them to remove them. 😆

Some also don't consider CC to ever be an issue, it's rare but in some cases they can cause a problem. And updated mods can also have bugs. People don't seem to ever consider that either.

Test first on a new save that never had ANY mods.
Remove the mod folder before adding the new pack!
Then delete localthumbcache
Make a new save, test the pack features.
Then play vanilla or wait for mods to be updated.
NOTE: Mods can also have bugs! Even if they are updated !

They are their 'safe blanket' kinda mods and don't want to remove them and just lie about it when asked. There's enough real bugs without these issues muddling the waters.

It's still not clear what exactly causes it, I'm just saying pushing the boundaries in the game isn't always without consequence.

Just downloaded the new pack, so far so good!
Now to build something insane ( probably the castle from 'A Cure for Wellness') and see if that works too!
I want to build a Spa / B&B thing, since I'm watching the movie now 😄

I've built it and then took one of my sims there and set the roles. Then sent the sim home and then travel to the lot again. Everyone behaves like they should.
