Alphington - on a bus route so school street not possible. Parents in cars as have to get to work after drop off. Regular parking where shouldn't but there are a few cargo bikes and kids on bikes / scooters.

West Exe - shared use pavement from Alphington under subway gets so busy that cycling not possible.

I like your reference to a 'driver' rather than a 'car' being involved.

Advertising for new housing developments promoting driving connections (eg. 5 mins from the motorway) rather than active travel opportunities

Was it reported to the police ? If it's not in the database it's not used as evidence to justify spending ££.

First step in designing anything should be to walk and wheel and the existing roundabout from all directions and from a child to elderly persons' viewpoint. Then take a blank page and start again.

Think how important bikes were in the ET film. The classic image of ET in the bike basket as Elliot cycles along. Images of kids with freedom to move around independently.

These illegal bikes are dangerous on the cycle paths. Often have no lights too.

I don't understand how the driver thinks this is acceptable. Exeter has a growing pavement parking problem.

Worth a read to make sense of why roads feel narrower and parking with a small car is a nightmare as big SUVs choose spaces adjacent to you.

I guess it depends if the commitment in the planning permission for the stadium for 'rugby' is by default, mens' rugby only ?

To get from Devon Hotel to Exminster roundabout there is the nice path through the marshes though? Access using the crossing over to Bad Homburg Way and then rejoins after main road just after the roundabout.
