07.07.2025 13:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Please take a look at the outcomes in the following two blogs, which I wrote throughout the process of developing and implementing a solution for a Research Data Management workflow.
07.07.2025 13:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I am happy to share my ๐๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ข๐๐๐ญ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง to the ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐ญ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ (๐๐๐) of the @wehi-research.bsky.social as a Research Software Engineering Contributor.
07.07.2025 13:41 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The programmer's oath written on a yellow card kept on a wooden table alongwith a sticker of the GitHub icon/logo.
โ I will produce estimates that are honest both in magnitude and precision. I will not make promises without certainty.
โ I will never stop learning and improving my craft.
#hacktoberfest #programming #software #development
โ I will do all that I can to keep the productivity of myself, and others, as high as possible. I will do nothing that decreases that productivity.
โ I will continuously ensure that others can cover for me, and that I can cover for them.
โ I will make frequent, small, releases so that I do not impede the progress of others.
โ I will fearlessly and relentlessly improve my creations at every opportunity. I will never degrade them.
โ The code that I produce will always be my best work. I will not knowingly allow code that is defective either in behavior or structure to accumulate.
โ I will produce, with each release, a quick, sure, and repeatable proof that every element of the code works as it should.
Here is The #Programmer's #Oath for your quick reference:
In order to defend and preserve the honor of the profession of computer programmers, I promise that, to the best of my ability and judgement:
โ I will not produce harmful code.
I have kept the card in my treasured bag of swags and go back to it every now and then! ๐
I wonder if I should take a look at it every time before starting a new project that involves computer technology. ๐ค
What are your thoughts? Which is your favourite promise?
The swags contained this particular card titled '๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ'๐ฌ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก' from @deepsource.com.
I must say - at first the card immediately reminded me of '๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก' generally taken by the people in the medical profession. ๐
Sharing a memory from around 4 years back today! I had participated in ๐๐๐๐ค๐ญ๐จ๐๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐๐ - one of the biggest annual global celebrations of #open #source #software online. After submitting 4 successful PRs, I had received a bag of swags from the organisers.
