lived enough places (ORD, BOS, AUS, DTO, ARB, SJC, NRT, LHR, OAK, SFO) for my accent to get terribly confused; now back at the end of the Ravenswood line
Save early, save often, and I hope two of the mods were 4GB and NVAC

31.01.2026 17:28 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I went to the Berwyn Bungalow Walk a few years ago, and one of the homes had all the interior walls ripped out and everything painted grey; the owner enthused about how airy and open plan it was. Unlike inside everywhere else, there was no animated conversation, only polite nodding and murmuring
29.01.2026 18:32 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Wiener's does both, Superdawg does only steamed. Wolfy's up on Peterson does chardogs as well - although I'd argue if you're jonesing for a chardog and nobody nearby does 'em, a Polish may scratch the itch.

Don't forget a Chicago Handshake at your local dive bar

all the stereotypes of terrible food, bureaucracy run amok, football hooligans, etc? Accurate.

27.01.2026 00:59 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0A small dog's head fills the majority of the frame. Her white fur is fluffy enough that jet eyes cannot be seen, only her black nose, tram ears, and little white paws. Truly, a fearsome beast, ensuring I cannot get up off the couch
I have been attacked on the couch
27.01.2026 00:49 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0it's heartening to see that Mamdani is willing and able to follow through from "campaigning and getting elected" to "actually governing effectively"; Chicago has shown that those two things can be very different beasts, alas (and dismantling campaign comms has been part of it, I suspect)

folks at Twitter really were exceptional
the ones from later decades looked a little different, but were more or less very similar in form and function
