Yep, I'm planning on going - The past couple years I just felt like I didn't get much of a chance to actually experience the show because I was stuck to my table all weekend. So I'm going as a "civilian" this time

I'm not going to have a table at VCFMW this year and if these sell out at VCFW I will basically be completely out of Picogeese. But I know @museumjoe.bsky.social will be there and have them for sale!

I won’t know until I try! I first thought it wouldn’t be possible, but I have a new firmware coming out that really optimizes SB mode and I can apply the same pattern to GUS mode, so there’s a chance…

I'm super excited for that version! The 20 cent difference is a bit less than the price of the flash chip I use at the quantities I order in, and it's less routing I have to worry about!

Yeah, I can't bank on that so I'll keep using level shifters and 5V tolerant bus interface logic.

Using tape heads for transmission is fraught with issues so I'm going to do some experiments with coils.

I'll start by with a bt401 Bluetooth module on usb power, then tweak volumes and distances.

If this works as well as I hope, I have some more complex builds in mind.

Went to Lakeside in Denver for the first time. My kid described it as “an abandoned amusement park that’s still open” and it’s incredible. I shouldn’t have waited this long to go - it feels like one of those places that is not made for these times and should be experienced while it’s still possible
