Three people that I very much care about have passed away this week so I'm just going to stare blankly at the wall for a bit.

Did we make it to Friday? This week has been about a month long. It certainly feels like January 68th by now.

I'm in my 40s and neurospicy so my idea of a wild weekend these days is going to a different supermarket than I'm used to with my usual list but ending up very far down the rabbit hole of discovery.

Anyhow I bought 4 different kinds of pickles last week at a Polish supermarket in Mississauga.

Work laptop is not detecting my external screens today and it's going to be a long day.

I need new (slightly stronger) reading glasses and possibly some driving glasses (hi, middle age is funny) so I might as well get the most hilarious frames this time around. Right?

I had 15 years between BA and MSc and honestly it was great cause I was the most motivated grad student. I knew why I went back. I had life experience. I knew what didn't work for me. I also felt like a dinosaur.

A fair question! I don't have a PhD but I had a long career in a very different field before I did my MSc and I think that really helped me get through it.

Science can mean lots of null results but you keep trying!
