i have never been a "call your senator" type of activist, if I'm being honest. But it would mean a lot to me personally if you helped put pressure on US lawmakers to help their constituents that are in Israeli captivity as part of the aid flotilla.

Happy to say that I attended a 2 hour subcommittee, another 2 hour general meeting, and changed some minds. Ends up there were only a few strong reluctant voices- the rest were actually excited about the idea!

Post-pandemic, young people have been moving back to Wheeling & the rally was a testament to their organizing strength.

214,309 West Virginians voted for Harris in 2024, including 6,676 residents of Ohio County. There were 2,000 people in the Capitol Theater to see Bernie. Not a good bet.

The Sanders folks were actually awesome about helping local orgs use the event to get more people involved in local organizing. They let local us pick who spoke so we could amplify people doing the real work here. Not a huge Bernie bro but I'm really grateful for what the rally did for our community

I volunteered at the rally and talked to most of the early arrivals. I'd assume the folks willing to wait in line for the best seats were the most hardcore Bernie bros. About half were from Wheeling and nearly all of the rest were from nearby towns in WV, PA, and OH.

One of my favorite regular volunteers told me, "Coming here is good for my mental health. I was getting anxious being alone so much. It's good for me to be around young people." I'm really happy some folks are getting the "mutual" in "mutual aid".

On 6/14 I went straight from a protest to the Pride festival to table for OV Mutual Aid. We didn't have a sign for our tent, so I painted one on a torn-up tablecloth I had in my bag. Next morning, ankle-deep in mud, I was hanging that same banner for flood relief. Still hard to wrap my head around.
