I think the rest of, The Stones said similar about him as well, over the years.

He took a bone china tea service on tour with him everywhere they went too.

‘Chance to Shine’ which was s’posed to go into schools to encourage kids into cricket would’ve benefited/drawn more interest if backed by FTA Matches, accessible for all.

I don’t think it’s needed for that. The 2005 Ashes brought in so much interest, incl. kids/whole families that had no previous interest in it. The whole country was, ‘cause they could be. It was easy & accessible for all incl. casual viewers who wouldn’t have paid for a sub on spec.

It’s a shame that it’s the only format where any real money is given to women’s cricket, especially when the women playing are saying that they want to be able to play more Tests.

This is where more County money would be useful (well, some of it) They’re obsessed with pace atm, which is useful obviously, but like you say, we could really do with more spinners. Plus more fielding practice

The pitches weren’t doing much for England as it was. I feel like grounds people are the sound engineers of cricket, everyone’s down on them when it’s not going great but no mention of them when it is. I’d genuinely like to hear from them. I want to know more about what makes a difference for them

The administrators are being rather disingenuous if they’re claiming it’ll giveTests a higher profile re. football fans. The ECB pretty much campaigned against FTA broadcasts for a start & Test spectators have always been mostly out-of-season football fans in the non-members areas at the grounds.

I guess I was thinking about late summer parched pitches with cracks for the bowlers & even with rain, by that time the ground on the actual pitch would be too hard for it too do much to it. (Outfield is another matter)

They’re really pushing it this year, bringing Broad & Warner in to promote it.
It’s a shame in a way ‘cause it’s the most money anyone’s thrown at promoting women’s cricket. For me tho’ Tests beat anything else. + more county support = better England Test sides. Crisps aren’t good for anyone.
