Very grateful to have been awarded our first @bloodcanceruk.bsky.social research grant over the summer for our work targeting aberrant Wnt/ฮฒ-catenin signalling in acute myeloid leukaemia (AML).

Our new project headed by Dr Wagstaff begins Oct 1st developing new ways to target oncogenic ฮฒ-catenin ๐Ÿ‘Š

A student of mine was very concerned by a news report saying the relative risk of a particular type of brain cancer had gone up by 50% When I looked at the absolute risk it went from 4 to 6 per 100,000. Told him not to worry. People have trouble dealing with absolute v relative risk!๐Ÿงช
