If progression, relapse, or mortality curves fall, that’s good. Survival should rise.

Adjuvant chemotherapy makes the survival line go *up*. The ideal survival curve starts in the upper left and stays horizontal all the way to the upper right: l nobody dies.

Pr(survival) = (1 - Pr(death)) = 100%, ideally.

I have never seen I-40 to the terminal in a functional state. Granted I don’t live in Nashville but every time I’ve picked someone up at BNA has been a cluster. It’s competitive with LAX, the undisputed Worst Airport on Earth. That’s really bad!

Low estimate

Tulane is the other R1 in Louisiana. At 6.6x the in-state tuition of LSU, it had better attract stronger faculty, at least in law and medicine. LSU is a land-grant university with a far broader scope than Tulane, and can thus support departments which Tulane can’t. One-dimensional rankings are dumb.

LSU, like UNC, also has to deal with meddling from state-level government, so it’s not reasonable to claim that “LSU” doesn’t care.

Where do people go for academics if not where the most capable faculty are? It is difficult to make progress on hard problems without some guidance.
