Never take the things you love for granted. After a long time I am finally living with my wife (after 4 years) and our pup (after 2 months). And every moment is just filled with so much more joy and happiness knowing that they are with me, and by the little things they do.

Walk across Liechtenstein (with stop for gelato). We drove to the Liechtenstein border. Found the first parking lot in Liechtenstein and walked to Switzerland, despite the border officer's recommendation we do it on a colder day 31ºC/88ºF. In Switzerland we turned around, took the bus back.

Primer día de vuelta en Madrid. Day 1 back in Madrid: lunch with family, walk with Diana and Stormy, thunderstorm to break the heat, fireworks in the distance.

Almuerzo con familia, camino con Diana y Stormy, tormenta para bajar la temperatura y fuegos artificiales en la distancia.

We were supposed to fly on Saturday from Boston but due to airline blunders it got pushed back to a Wednesday flight from JFK that arrived Thursday morning, but Stormy and I are finally in Spain and rested. Too bad I have to return on Sunday.

I imagine that number’s gone up a bit. I remember hearing 75k about a decade ago. But yes, after a point where your needs are met plus vacation adventures and some discretionary spending it doesn’t add much. Law of diminishing returns at work. But I’d still like to test that hypothesis personally.

Most people I know don’t realize that G*psy is a racial slur, that the Roma are an ethnic group, not an aesthetic, or know their history which included being slaughtered by the Nazis.

May we use this era to find commonality and support each other across communities.

When “son of morning” comes out in the fall I wanna read it, we should chat about it if you do too. That and any of Emezi’s other books.

Do you like romance novels as well? If so may I recommend “You made a fool of Death with your Beauty” by Akwaeke Emezi? Personally, romance isn’t my cup of tea but Emezi’s books are. Their 2nd romance novel comes out this year. I love their books across genres that I don’t tend to read.

I feel I shouldn’t have laughed at that.
