It’s a day to recognize the service of military veterans, but personally I also think of all the civilians who swore the same oath…”against all enemies, foreign and domestic”…whether it be NatSec, Intel, or regular Cabinet agencies, there are a lot of patriots the citizens should be proud of today.

Good summary, the system wasn’t designed to withstand one branch just giving up. IMO gerrymandering is the critical element in the legislature breaking. No deals at home, no deals in DC. Fixing the legislature will require re-establishing logical voting district boundaries.
