Hits close to home. I saw a dog get hit by transfer truck and then straddled by a truck and trailer as he laid in the road. His front 2 legs were broken in half. Never found his owner, and it was a miserable summer nursing him back to health. Ended up having to put him down though... 13 years later.

I heard the word "gerrymander" for the first time in my 8th grade Civics class and remember thinking it was the most vile, anti-democratic thing I had ever heard in my life. Now it's just an open way of life that perpetrators even brag about doing. I just don't have a ton of hope anymore.

It's weird. The dream is that generational QB who keeps you in contention for a decade. But having that guy almost guarantees the rest of the team is bad because he's paid so much, you're skimping everywhere else (Allen takes up 1/5 of the salary cap). Maybe MORE commercials is actually the answer.

My theory: Football coaches rarely watch any real time football outside their own games. Their weekends are consumed with their game, and any watching they do of other teams is from edited packages. The average football fan will watch more real time football in a weekend than a coach may all year.

There was a Braves game last year where he went on and on about how some team was going to figure out to use a reliever multiple innings and it would revolutionize bullpens, as if he just solved cold fusion, completely oblivious of the already existing role of the "bulk reliever".

We had just gotten HBO, and they were showing Star Wars that night, but unfortunately, it after mine and my brother & sister's bedtime on a school night. Well, after we went to bed, it started snowing, and my dad, knowing school would be closed, got us all up to watch it together at like midnight.
