Lessons learned having gone through a couple substantial shakeups. It felt, in the moment, like grasp on life was either over or that all bad things were inevitable. In retrospect though, they're splits in the path. It takes us some sweat and support, but we figure out a better route eventually.

It's never too late to change course. And if you do, know that the things you have learned, the pains you felt and the joys you experienced when you were in your 20s were not wasted. The sheer determination, the resolve to pivot is one of the greatest survival assets of our stubborn human existence.

While it isn't what got me into furry (that'd be the early 2000s Bemani community of all things) I think it was through a shared appreciation of it with other furry musicians by which I made my first good music connections.

I got really into their music just as 2009 started, and without a doubt it encouraged me to experiment more with music. I copped a technique from one of their live streams to quickly write a couple songs on the "Do You Feel Me" album. The works of Halley Labs were honest to gods catalysts for me.

When I was young, and even up to recently, I didn't do much for my birthday. I would get anxiety over having to socialize back then, even hid in my room sometimes. These days I'm trying to get better about treating it as something to truly celebrate.

I should try monitoring this around my place too- we live not too far from a military airstrip. They fly jets near here 2-3 mornings a week for exercises, and I'm curious just how loud they are relative to everything else
