Looks like we have to only compare computer use with other computer use… anything else just invokes claims of whataboutism and a logical fallacy. Yes, we can eat the burgers but we don’t need burgers to survive, just like we don’t need the AI to survive.

Apple makes mistakes and leaves rough edges in their products sometimes. Users aren’t always apologists for this — we notice little things that could use improvement. See if I found the same things that bug you about them.

Cats aren’t native so they’ve only been here 200 or so years. How much genetic change can happen in felines over that period?

We need the full story. I want to know what the issue was that you needed to call them about. The only thing that comes to mind is another story I heard about Apple not giving access to a deceased relative’s account.

What happened to the hostages? How many are still alive to be used as bargaining chips?

It’s interesting that the attitude seems to be “we did something wrong in our campaign” rather than “we are clinging to old fashioned belief systems and a majority of the country has moved on”.

I’ve been wondering if that’s why I have hypophantasia… otherwise I would have some amazing ability.

Maybe instead of comparing Musk’s gesture to people who also had their arm extended we could compare it to people who were genuinely intending to do the “heart goes out to you” gesture.

List of things Apple should have fixed before mucking around with AI — Uncaught Exception Slow down, Apple! There are a bunch of things you haven’t fixed and adding AI while still leaving these annoyances isn’t a good look.
