My daughter and I volunteered this morning cleaning up trash near the Shoal Creek headwaters in north Austin. 8 people, 2hrs, & lots of trash removed. But feels like we barely made a dent.

And, it's been at least 20 years since I got a good poison ivy rash. Today, I may have reset the clock.

I live in Texas. I suspect it's intentional... to serve as a cycling deterrent.

Instead of a bike lane, they give you this mutli-use sidewalk... until you don't even get that.

I never go this way anymore, and today I'm reminded why.
Instead of a protected bike lane, we get a multi-use ski slalom.
At least they keep the tree branches mostly out of the way, which can't be said for several other spots.

Some days, after work and a 45-min drive home, you're knackered. Intervals.icu says you've lost 2 fitness points since Saturday. Garmin says "Recovery." So you pull on your bibs, grab your gubbins, and roll. Less than 5 minutes in, legs wake up, mind clears. This is why I ride.
