Don't make the world a worse place. Metal and climate doom. Use Linux. Mutes for: twitter screenshots, arguing with a subjective opinion Blocks for: bad faith replies, engagement accounts, "brands".
great
12.08.2025 00:43 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I've seen other people talking about them being AI nutters, so that seems the likely explanation
11.08.2025 18:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 1yeah but I refuse to use source control that's hosted on premises. that's just a tragedy waiting to happen. and as soon as you want to back up something like that without doing like... full VM snapshots it becomes hell on earth.
11.08.2025 17:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I would like this idea if there was any possibility of ever predicting what cloud hosting would cost for anything ever.
11.08.2025 17:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've been using bitbucket for years but I've been mad since they ditched mercurial and then clamped down on their free tiers
11.08.2025 17:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0mercurial is still superior and there's a timeline where mercurial was picked over git where trump didn't become president
11.08.2025 17:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0βCrimeβ as conservatives talk about it has literally been a conservative dogwhistle our whole lives akin to βprotecting our childrenβ. They care about neither genuinely, otherwise they wouldnβt be worshiping a pedophile who is also a convicted felon

11.08.2025 15:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0next time I commit a crime I'm just going to say "it was because of hamas" because it seems like a good way to get away with literally the most heinous shit

epic will one day turn the screws, but they'll do it in a predictable way, and the tool will at least be worth it to some extent.
unity's business goals are impenetrable and you basically can't trust them to not screw you directly.
yeah. unity's inability to decide what it wants to be, or to support any particular thing directly, really just makes it a shitshow across the board. Frankly I wouldn't bother with Unity for anything anymore; Godot is better in 2D, Unreal is better in 3D, pretty sure unity exists for ad/shovelware.
11.08.2025 14:45 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0imagine making a subscription based games site, trying to position yourself as the new way to read about games, and then posting articles about a game where you don't link to the game or developer at all, when doing so might be the thing that actually helps them.

09.08.2025 02:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0and like, pin-through electronics are so simple I could repair them with just a layman's experience and understanding.
but smd and smaller basically cannot be repaired without specialized equipment, but most things are just systems on a chip with connections so small they can't be repaired.
it's one of those things where it's like... does it matter? at the end of the day, things can no longer be fixed. planned obsolescence is mostly a software thing but it's true that without software the hardware is useless
09.08.2025 01:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0you might think this is a false equivalence but miniaturization is both why devices use less power and why they are less repairable
if your old crt tv broke in the 90s, any electrician could fix it
if your flat screen tv dies, 9/10 odds it is just trash now
