Riverview Park storm water funding was also substantially cut by PWSA, resulting in 1000 trees being cut down in the historic Wissahickon tree stand.

My Pgh Gram may have visited in its early days. I'm grateful for years of kid lessons, lap swim and Friday night family swims. Hope it remains a community asset for another 100+ years

Greed is the worst drug

I agree, they were about Family, Faith and community - all day everyday. I am so fortunate to have known them

They formed NHS because they couldn't get loans from Banks due to being redlined. Their efforts spread to Chicago where Gale Cincotta got involved, resulting in landmark Community Reinvestment Act

She was also an important part of West Park Court, first senior building in the country to be owned and managed by a community group.

I think about her a lot these days, her strategy was to put the gentry to work in the neighborhood

Northside has been supporting unhoused since forever, it's part of who we are. Would be great if adequate resources were provided since we know other neighborhoods & municipalities are willing to look away.
