The music and levels should also, like a great album, have a more natural flow and coherent theme by now. But the best-in-class block puzzles and *vibes* still demonstrate why Lumines will always be the GOAT.

05.11.2025 16:11 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I agree! I've had that same thought many times when I'm scoring a game highly, but, like you said, I've listened to my gut when it is screaming at me and it's worked out.
05.11.2025 01:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0that's fair, but the rule that has almost always worked for me is if you're debating between two scores, the lower one is probably more apt (and the one you'll have a lower chance of regretting later)

I feel like most of young journalists entering the industry are not super familiar with a lot of the history of video games, games media pre-2010 (and just like the industry outside of America in general), and it's really doing a disservice to readers because of the lack of context given.

I think a lot about the chance we had at the start of COVID to finally become a more compassionate, collectivist nation, and how profoundly we were failed not only by the sociopathic greed of the ruling class but by each other.
It doesnโt mean we wonโt get there, but the lost opportunity haunts me.
the remaster of the first game is only $4.49 on the Switch right now and is a great intro to this wonderful series

it's hard not to cringe a little when some devs speak about trying so hard to please players, people who would, if asked, probably demand to be served familiar gruel, so this is refreshing to see

Yeah exactly. It's why I usually took my pics out for combat or waited for a dramatic pose where there was a chance to see what the hell was going on.

It's pretty good, but I wish you could tune the lighting and blood effects more. The bloom and blood can sometimes make it harder to get that perfect shot.

It is still signposting important places by giving each one a title card and marking them on your map when you aim the spyglass at them, but they're made to grab your eye first. I've stumbled across so many things just through my curiosity.

Should it be necessary to beat a game more than once to get a decent ending? No but f's narrative entices you to keep digging.
Yeah, I had a similar thought, especially after seeing the other endings.
Ah yes, thanks for the reminder. I had your feature mentally bookmarked for after I was completely done with f, so I'll read that soon.
