it does mean that their friendship feels a little shallower when moving through plot beats like that though

like I forget because the books work so well in developing the friendship/romance between our two leads but the actual meat of like the background of the war and the airship battles that increased the stakes of their friendship move pretty quickly when it’s a visual medium.

i am a little sad that a lot of the tension/emotional complexity of the interactions between the characters had to be cut for time (like why do all 3 books in 12 episodes?) but I guess i forgot that not much actually happens action/plot wise between all that

ok so the leviathan anime is cute. i am digging it because visually it does a good job of capturing the world (nothing compares to the og art of course and I would have loved to have it stay in that style but different mediums) the backgrounds and beasties are gorgeous and work well

Its a art from 2023! This is my OC Suren, back then her dress was the devil for me. They lie about their jobs because they know their jobs are reviled by the public. They know they’re hated—that people will think less of them if they know they work for ICE—and it bothers them. Which is good for everyone to remember. They’re ashamed. They’re miserable. They’re LOSERS. Remind them.

ICE agents are, simply put, fucking clowns. According to The Atlantic, they receive 47 days of training — in honor of Trump, the 47th president, naturally. Many of them, also, can barely read or write, apparently. The ones I spent the weekend following around didn’t even have proper uniforms, with some wearing sneakers. In Minnesota. In January. These dipshits are also wearing camo in the snow. They clearly do not have any training when it comes to their own weapons either. Multiple times over the last few days, I watched officers fire pepper spray balls at the feet of protestors barely a few inches away from them. These weapons are basically paintball guns full of concentrated pepper spray. So when they hit a target, they explode into the air. Which meant ICE agents regularly ended up poisoning themselves with their own weapons. I also watched two agents ask each other if a canister they were about to fire at the crowd was tear gas or a stun grenade. (It ended up being a stun grenade that then ignited the tear gas they had already shot at us, which started a fire in the street that a protestor had to help them put out.)

ICE agents are, simply put, fucking clowns. Some observations from four days on the ground in Minneapolis.
