In the 90s, I genuinely thought the Internet would cure loneliness. But it turns out that for me anyway the Internet addresses loneliness the way alcohol addresses anxiety.

Set your phone down. Talk to someone you love. Read a book. Bake some bread. The chaos is fully intentional meant to break us down.
Take a step away, get back into a good headspace, then come back refreshed & ready to fuck shit up. We've got this. π
Me, in January: "Here's hoping I can get more books finished in February."

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.
Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. Itβs not intellectually superior. Itβs the virus theyβre trying to infect us with. NO
Friendly reminder in these crazy times:
Joy is an act of resistanceπ
Itβs important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.
Not all of it can be broadcast online, but weβve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.
Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.
Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.
Opportunities are everywhere.
Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Donβt take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are π
Gentle reminder that overwhelming & upsetting us right now is the goal. They want us to get tired & burnt out. Pick a few key issues to focus on & set boundaries for yourself on the rest. Work on building communities. Find some joy & make sure to rest but please don't give up, if you can help it.

29.01.2025 14:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.
I just ordered this one today too. Got a couple others to go with it.
