Good question. Unfortunately, the answer is that we need people like you to keep society from falling apart.
Today we read a bit about Sarah Emma Edmonds from whatβs now New Brunswick thanks to Spy Camp (book 2 of spy school) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_E...
She claimed to have served as a man with the Union Army as a nurse and spy during the American Civil War. Sounds like she had an interesting life.

This reminded me of stories from the residential βschoolβ system when Indigenous children were removed from their families to be assimilated. Clergy running the place got actual food while the children got indiscernible mush. Hitler was inspired by residential schools & ICE continues the tradition.

The initial design for the bike had wheel dynamos that gave riders extra power when traveling uphill.
Yeah that makes a lot of sense. That guy sucks.

Nope - assume nefarious intent at all times.
does just going outside and yelling help? might give that a go.

13.02.2026 03:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Anyone who had genuine concerns about youth gender medicine would staunchly and wholeheartedly support social transition. Let kids explore their identities to see what works for them!
The fact that this movement opposes even pronouns and haircuts shows that it's just bigotry all the way down.
This is really, really dark.

12.02.2026 14:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A collection of six ominous bird valentines set against a background of pink hearts. In the first one, a Canada Goose looks angry and hisses and the text says "Baby, I'll make you fall head over heels if you approach within 10m of my nest." In the second, an American white pelican opens its mouth to eat the reader and the text says "There are plenty of fish in the sea, but I want this one." In the third valentine, a Black Vulture looks suspiciously at the reader and the text says "I will love you until you die. And after that, I'll love you even more." A Southern Cassowary stands proudly against the heart-covered background. The text says "My wattles are red. My head is blue. My deadly reputation has been somewhat overblown, but I'd kill for you." In the fifth valentine, a Northern Giant-Petrel stands open-billed next to a large brown furry object, and the text says "Let's seal the deal by sharing a 3000 kg elephant seal carcass." In panel 6, a happy-looking Bearded Vulture holds a bone in its beak, and the text says "I love every part of you, especially your bones."
Ominous bird valentines.

And we may never meet in person. But itβs nice to be able to be a part of something like this.
or maybe thatβs just a story I tell myself. Iykyk. But I think itβs not a terrible sign that the adults in their life probably treat them like people.
Itβs just a little game and just an hour here or there during the week but itβs fun to laugh and play our little games in a group. I recommend it.
I have found that playing video games with kids brings me regular joie de vivre - there is usually at least one kid that is very comfortable with adults or at least with me - you can tell because they mock you openly (before theyβre teenagers) itβs a special kind of mocking - like youβre in on it.
