In terms of the managers, their careers probably depend on the process not continuing any further (for those who have not already retired). But I could also see this being drawn out indefinitely, if there are repeated unsuccessful applications to the CCRC, for example. Better to conclude now imo.

It's absolutely appropriate to criticise Starmer and the government for continued welfare cuts in a highly strained system. But to downplay the threat from Russia, and to make out that the push for increased defence spending is just "jitters" seems naive at best.

The "disengagement" phrase rang alarm bells when I heard it - but impossible to say much more than that until we hear more about it at the inquiry.

I have no time for the "was it a fascist salute or not?" debate. The man has been using his platform to promote far right parties in foreign elections - why should he be given the benefit of the doubt on this? If a UK public figure did anything like this, what would the reaction be?

No, it's not everyone's experience - but there's also a big difference between saying "drugs don't work for everyone" and "drugs hardly work at all".

I mean Trump today is quite literally releasing far right extremist paramilitary leaders who staged an insurrection. America, even American liberal media, is responding with an exhausted and defeated shrug.

Certainly not denying the influence that the pharmaceutical industry can have. But at the same time, it's rather simplistic though - "drugs that don't work"? That isn't the consensus of the field, and doesn't tie in with my clinical experience or indeed personal experience.

It's a nice soundbite, but sounds a little conspiratorial.
