Big old TLDR. FUCK THESE WALLS ARE HARD TO HANG ANYTHING ON

So eventually I’m getting a wooden farmhouse style dish rack there to utilise the fancy plasterboard fixings. And the original shelf is above the door. Which is what took the hour to drill 4 holes for.

Which I might add is incredibly inconveniently placed as you cannot hang cabinets there so there’s no kitchen cabinets on one side. I tried expensive fancy plasterboard fixings but those need you to make the holes in the shelves I’ve bought bigger and it’s a metal bracket so no.

Apart from the mostly solid as fuck walls we did find the odd small patch that’s completely plaster board. I think there’s a door they just boxed in that goes between the kitchen and lounge.

I’ve not even done most of it. I’ve been getting my stepdad who is incredibly experienced and adept. It took him an hour to drill 4 holes in the kitchen for a shelf yesterday. With the SDS drill.

I keep loosing my shit trying to hang things on my walls because they’re simultaneously rock hard (like struggling with the SDS drill) and also crumbly?! It’s making me look terrible at diy because anything I hang, it ends up wonky.

I’m going to walk Hammy in the garden out of spite lol. Maybe try moo again now he’s more settled. Though it’s quite windy so I’m not sure they’ll fancy it. Which is fine I obviously wouldn’t force them

It’s such a strongly ingrained attitude in Europe. Cats are safer and healthier when indoors or supervised outside. It’s just a bloody fact. I’ve even had people tell me I’m cruel for keeping mine. It’s pure cognitive bias to think that outside is better.

Cat charities piss me off with the whole “cats should roam” thing and how they discourage harness training. Yes ofc if you harness you need to train and be careful. But free roaming is objectively the bad option. The life expectancy tells you as much.

You don’t actually have to both sides this. The Jewish community in the UK is not the Israeli government. You can just condemn the murder of two British Jews killed in their place of worship and you don’t have to say a single other thing.

Proper. I have a ton of evidence so I’ll go through the mediation service for the deposit. Just frustrating I have to do so!

My previous properties agents have started to try to extort money out of the deposit the cheeky shits. Landlords and the agents for them are SUCH arseholes. Trying to claim it’s not clean when i literally have evidence of my cleaning.

That’s exactly what problem I had!! Especially the lounge where I spend most time. And the kitchen. Just couldn’t settle until it was de boxed. I’ve lived with boxes for ages now because I’d packed way in advance to lessen the stress so I just wanted boxes to begone haha

I’m going to try to make myself rest a bit more now. I have the main bits sorted like the lounge is mostly done and my endless craft stuff is sorted.

After his rodeo with haemolytic anaemia he’s very good at blood tests. Yesterday they tried jugular but he doesn’t like there so being the absolute angel he is, he just stuck out his paw to be like “take it from here”. A habit he picked up from his anaemia. Such a good boy 😭

The cats are fully settled now a week exactly in. Hammys been in the garden on the lead a couple times. Though I am currently limiting because he’s been sick a lot. Vet yesterday for bloods for him.

I’m so tired from unpacking the house and building furniture, all the making my liveable things. My body feels like someone’s smashed hammers all over but I cannot stop myself because I want it to be sorted and not full of boxes

I’m getting internet tomorrow finally. Which means I can also watch TV because there’s no areal. The house has just been silence. Oh and my heating is unusable without wifi. Because it seems everything requires it nowadays. For some reason even my new fridge and washing machine are wifi connected?!
