Trump Wants to End Mail-In Voting Ahead of Next Yearโ€™s Midterms (Gift Article) The president does not have the power to unilaterally change voting laws, and any executive order regarding elections is likely to see immediate legal challenges.

Attempts to end mail-in voting are part of President Trumpโ€™s larger strategy to remove checks on presidential power by making it harder for voters to hold politicians like him accountable at the ballot box.

The Constitution is clear: The president has no power to change election laws.

The best time for Senator Schumer and Representative Jeffries to step down from their roles in leadership was immediately after Democrats lost the House, Senate, White House and the popular vote in November, which hadnโ€™t happened in 20 years.

The second best time for them to step down would be right now, after allowing Republicans to run over them in budget negotiations.

As Republicans hold a trifecta, it was their Partyโ€™s responsibility to pass a budget and get the votes to keep the government running, not the Democratic Party.

Yet, under the leadership of both Representative Jeffries and Senator Schumer, Democrats are yet again being pushed around by Republicans, which will result in working class Americans being harmed by the Republican Partyโ€™s budget.

As I travel this country, I hear from people and overwhelmingly, working class Americans are growing frustrated with the feeble leadership of the Democratic Party.

People want an end to the billionaire influence over our politics, universal healthcare, tuition-free college, living wages, housing for all, making corporations and the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share of taxes, and a political party that fights for these things.

Itโ€™s time for, not just a change in leadership, but a new direction.

Democrats Invite Fired Federal Workers to Trumpโ€™s Congressional Address The move comes as lawmakers hear from constituents over President Trump and Elon Muskโ€™s efforts to slash federal spending and cull the civil service ranks.

Rather than boycott President Trumpโ€™s address to a joint session of Congress, some Democratic lawmakers are inviting former federal workers to the speech on Tuesday as a way to protest the mass firings and funding cuts that have defined Trumpโ€™s first month back in office.

Six Fired Federal Workers Temporarily Reinstated by Review Board The decision could apply more broadly to thousands of other government employees who were fired because they were on probationary status and relatively new in their positions.

Six fired federal workers will be temporarily reinstated after a decision this week by the Merit Systems Protection Board, the first step toward what lawyers representing fired employees hope will be the restoration of thousands of jobs cut by the Trump administration.

Hegsethโ€™s biography is on the left, General Brownโ€™s on the right. Go read these to someone without telling them who they are and then ask them to choose who is better qualified to hold the positions of SECDEF and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

DOGE recommended firing workers at:

-FDA, which oversees Neuralink

-FAA, which oversees SpaceX

-USAID, which probed Starlink

-CFPB, which oversees Tesla's financing arm and a potential payment platform on X.

"Conflict of interest" is a severe understatement.

Trump Fired, Then Unfired, National Nuclear Security Administration Employees. What Were Their Jobs? The administration asked some of the agencyโ€™s workers, who were part of last weekโ€™s massive layoffs across the federal government, to come back.

When termination letters were sent to employees across the federal government last week, it affected an agency charged with the readiness of Americaโ€™s nuclear arsenal. Hereโ€™s a rundown of what the National Nuclear Security Administration does.

A government worker's message for Elon Musk
YouTube video by CBS Sunday Morning A government worker's message for Elon Musk

The federal workforce as a share of all American workers remains at a historic low.

Civilian government employees make up 2% of the total U.S. workforce, with the largest number in health care, including VA hospitals.

More than 4 out of 5 government workers live & work outside the Washington area.
