That line comes straight from the Great Replacement myth: the lie that immigration is a plot to erase white populations.

Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced.

Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.

Sounds like my high school, I took 'Visual Communications' which did cover a lot of fine art & history but was more practical and business-focused.

At that point if they still put up a fight I guess I'll just have to let their generous coffer go, poor me.

Another reason to love #Vgen is their escrow system is pretty good. So now every time some evil genius comes in twirling their mustache like, "mmmmyeeasss, I am willing to pay a hefty sum and generous tip but only after the product is delivered!" I can just say, 'sure. Show Vgen you have the money.'

'Graphic Design' isn't the same as fine art, painting, studying art, or illustration. It isn't the only viable application of artistic skills in the market, either. Movies, books, magazines, architecture, advertisements, games & software all use art. This system is teaching people to undervalue art.

People I know who went to art school just got fucked over and ripped off. They owe hundreds of thousands of dollars for supplies and tutoring to feel like they just indulged in an expensive hobby and might get to be in a hoity toity gallery if they're lucky. Or they did Graphic Design instead.

In Computer Science, I spend about half the classes learning 'business things' such as how to do meetings, typical corporate structures and workflows, terms to use for job hunting or resume writing, what companies look for in interviews, the societal value of technology and code of ethics.

Art schools would be a lot more viable if they taught business alongside the art curriculum. Studying art only seems stupid because they don't want to explain to anyone how to get a job and especially don't want to teach people how to just work. As in for themselves. Sell their wares and skills.

It seems a lot more user-friendly, too. The way it presents everything to clients is awesome. They can see my ToS and listings on the front page with no mess. The tags serve as portfolio organization well enough. Nice UI on both ends.

Well, #VGen has been pretty good to me so far. Now that I'm on the way to verification and understand how the site works, I may as well make it my main portfolio and just treat Deviantart like another social media.
This is a great portfolio & freelancing site with low fees.
