Has anyone ever seen a Tufted Titmouse with a crooked tail? This guy has been coming by often. Not the most dominant but also not submissive, so it's not necessarily affecting his standing with the group. We affectionately call him Crooked 🪶

2 tufted titmice helping me measure the amount of snow thus far. One sits on top of a snowy table with the edge shoveled off. The other stares down at the peanuts on the table while standing on the less snowy bit. If the Tits are about 4" tall, there's probably about 5" of snow.

Could also be an element of training. If you've been going hot to cold to hot since you were a teen your body likely knows how to adapt

If they think it's all just "word salad" there's a good chance they have bad reading comprehension and shouldn't be doing this job

If you treat them with calm and respect, you can reach an understanding with paper wasps. Excellent for garden pest control; won't sting familiar, well-behaved humans. Yes, quite intelligent :)

Squirrel nests are quite nasty. We had an old oak tree removed and found out half it's trunk was full of layered squirrel bedding and poop. So. Much. Stinking. Poop.

A tufted titmouse - grey back, white breast, orange stripe under the wings between them - cocks its head slightly left looking at the camera. It is on a shoveled table path surrounded by snow taller than its head. Bird prints are visible all around. It wants me to know there are no seeds on the table, and this is a problem. Later, it kicked my window to emphasize this was a big problem

I thought they had a pot of money set aside specifically for SNAP in case of a shutdown like this. From what I understood, it's solely at the president's discretion to use this money and he can only use it for this purpose. Not sure how anyone can legally compel him to do it though...

Since I started thinking of it as "battle paint to focus eyes on my eyes" or "delicate clown face" it's gotten easier. However, the REAL clown face I've got on today is so much more fun and natural
