Here is the best bit, whilst Foundry is proprietary software, you run it locally. You aren't uploading shit. And many of the plugins are open source.

Foundry is obviously more complicated than what you show, but it also handles dice and character sheets. And often there is a large community who has made stuff for the system you are using.

Ultimately the dream is still a well supported #opensource VTT that can handle many different types of systems. But that seems to be forever a pipe-dream.

Interesting write up on some alternate "VTTs". I am always looking for a more open source system. While none of these options work as well as just using Foundry's drawing tools on a blank map, I can see situations where this might be preferable.

The anime was honestly just validation for us manga freaks. Fujimoto has a total mastery over the form that does not really translate to animation.

I think people who critique criticism don't understand how difficult it is to get honest feedback. Every creative space I have been in is full of people who don't want to tell you what you need to hear and just give niceties instead. I understand some can be over harsh, but better that than nothing.
