The official key art for Dune: Awakening, showing three characters in the foreground: one is wearing a stillsuit with a ranged weapon, to his left is a Harkonnen character showing his back and the cape he is wearing. To the right is an Atreides wearing their distinctive armor set and wielding a melee weapon. Behind them are the vast dunes of Arrakis, with a combined arms battle in the background where ground vehicles, ornithopters, and ground troops battle for control of the spice blows. Overlooking it all, a trimouth sandworm emerges from the dunes. In the sky, the two moons of Arrakis against a suitably blue sky.
Text on the image reads "Survive. Expand. Control". Below is the logo for Dune: Awakening. At the bottom, over a black frame, it says "Coming to PC early 2025".

Gamedev tricks used by developers 🧵 origin thread In 2018 I started a thread on Twitter (later renamed X 🙄) where I shared some game development tricks devs used to get around get around bugs, software, hardware or time constraints. Over time I added more stuff to that thread, and there’s some cool information there. Since I now replicated that thread on both Mastodon and Bluesky; it got me thinking I should probably put this on my own blog, a single post, which is easier to read, also in case those websites are ever taken down.

I've duplicated my gamedev tricks thread in a couple different social networks; I thought it was time to just bundle all together in one blog post, easier to check all, and if some site goes down my blog stays! www.david-amador.com...
