The Media Is Complicit in the Climate Confusion
The vast majority of people want their governments to take climate actionโbut most wrongly think theyโre in the minority. The media is partly to blame.

Can't stop thinking about the fact that the government is literally slashing public service jobs while bringing in AI for use in the public service.
They are literally doing, as a government, what we scream at tech bros for doing to their employees.
Pretty gross!

Passport Canada, Canada Revenue Agency, Citizenship and Immigration Canada -- many of us have spent time on the phone or in offices with hardworking federal employees.
And the plan, apparently in large part, is to replace the good jobs of these human beings with AI slopbots? During a jobs crisis??

Post-election budget could plunge Canada into another federal election - CCPA
With so much on the line, the newly elected federal government has tabled a budget that, in many ways, could pass as a Conservative budget.
Thanks for the rapid response episode, and for the fast work of the CCPA to process all of this.
Good to hear lots of folks noting that NDP MPs have a real chance to draw the line and show that there's a reason for them to be in Parliament. (Or not.)

Whatโs missing from the Carney governmentโs first federal budget
Prime Minister Mark Carneyโs first federal budget represents a shift in policy from Justin Trudeau as the Liberals bet that major investments in an economic transformation will pay off with much-neede...
'We need to make sacrifices [to your health] in order to make investments [in tax cuts].'
Nothing new on pharmacare or dental care.
New tax deductions (and even 'super-deductions') for corporations.
Tax breaks on planes and yachts over $250,000.

Antwerp is an Effortlessly Cool City Toured Best by Bicycle
Itโs no wonder Antwerp now ranks among the top ten most bicycle-friendly cities in the world, according to the Copenhagenize Index.
โThe city isnโt quite at Copenhagen or Amsterdam levels, but itโs closing in. Over 40 percent of locals commute by bike โ about ten times the rate of a typical North American city โ and you feel it immediately.โ Via @momentummag.bsky.social
