In the spirit of this, can we please stop referring to Budvar, as much as I love them, and the "original" Budweiser.

They are not, never have been, and never will be.

1895 is a good hundred years later than 1795 when BΓΌrgerliches Brauhaus Budweis was founded, known today as Samson.

One of the things I love about @craftbeerchannel.bsky.social videos is their focus on, you know, beer. The Cask Ale series is delightful, especially places like Shepherd Neame and Timothy Taylor. Watching them at places like Budvar, their reverence for the liquid is evident, and it's so refreshing.

How many species of native bees are in the United States? There are over 20,000 known bee species in the world, and 4,000 of them are native to the United States. They range from the tiny (2 mm) and solitary Perdita minima, known as the world’s smallest bee,...

Fun fact, there are 4000 bee species that are native to North America, including the delightful blue orchard bee.

Many are more efficient pollinators than introduced species, such as the honey bee.

Oh, again, and cite primary sources, not uncited quotes from secondary sources. As Luther would say, go "ad fontes", and if you can't find a source, don't bloody well quote it.

Citations are important.

Quoting a "source" that isn't private communication, such as an interview, simply MUST be cited or I will not trust your interpretation of history.

Remember in school maths you were required to show your working, the same applies to writing - show your research and cite.

You really would think that people who insist on calling themselves "patriots" would be aware of a country's legal system, especially an MP.

For example, there is no such thing as "British law".

The UK has 3 legal systems, Scots, English, and Northern Irish, all are distinct from each other.

My only comment on the whole Coldplay thing is the misogyny of so much of the reporting.

The CEO has been reported consistly as such, marking his rank and status.

The Chief People Officer has been invariably referred to, dismissively, as "the HR woman".

She was as much an executive as he was.

I think a second year of not bothering with a mass tasting is in order. Whatever is still around come September will get the nod.

Not going to lie, I will miss this iteration of Haus Lagerbier when the keg kicks - likely this weekend.

Saw a sign at the Cville #NoKings to the effect that "the people are the 4th branch of government".

Respectfully, this is wrong.

We the People are the First branch of government. All executive power derives from us. The people alone are sovereign, and government exists to serve us, and us alone.

Hope there is a buy-back clause in the deal taking Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford from #LFC. I don't want to be a downer but if Mamardashvili doesn't work out I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

@evanrail.bsky.social makes good points in his piece (no surprise there). Not sure I personally like the idea of SNPA being an ESB (whether American style or original), but there is a nice circularity to it given the influence of English beers on its development.

Thinking about methods of dispense and wondering if before the invention of CO2 being used to push beer from a keg, was all Central European beer gravity served from a stichfaß setup, or did they use beer engine type devices go pump the beer?

Real Madrid wanted Trent so badly they didn't want to buy him.

Happy to part with Β£50m for Huijsen and €60m for Carreras, though.

I would never boo an #LFC player in the shirt, but Trent has shown his colours, and they aren't red.

Liverpool have lost better players and survived, we will again.
