There’s something special - a je ne sais quoi - about co-operatives.

We saw it at L’Onde de Coop 2025 in Paris this week, where co-ops from across Europe gathered, inspired by our world-leading ambition to double the size of the UK co-operative sector. 🇫🇷

Launched Southwark’s Disability Hub today – a vital step for inclusion. It’s about voice, power and independence, giving disabled residents space to shape decisions and share access info. Huge thanks to residents and officers who got us here.

We recognise that true national renewal must begin in our communities.

We know that politics and decision-making should be driven by communities themselves, shaped from the ground up.

This new era of community empowerment is essential to building a more Community Britain.

🚨 NEW: As part of the Government’s Pride in Place programme, a brand new Co-operative Development Unit is being introduced in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

We’re pleased to be working alongside 13 Labour & Co-operative ministers, and grateful to friends who’ve served with such dedication.

Our purpose is clear: to double the size of the co-operative sector, empower communities, and build a fairer economy together.

Delighted to bring young people from Peckham to meet the Policing Minister Diana Johnson- making sure their voices are heard at the heart of Government as we work to make our streets safer and build stronger bridges between police and community.
