Private prison companies set to make billions reopening jails for ICE “There's a private interest behind the detention and the incarceration of our community,” said an activist protesting the facilities.

Yesterday, private prison company CoreCivic announced that they will reopen a family detention center in Texas. It was previously reported a toddler detained there died due to a lack of medical care.

It will detain up to 2,400 people—including children.

Trump: "We don't need Canada's lumber. So what I'm doing is I'll be signing an executive order freeing up our forests so that we're allowed to take down trees and make a lot of money and then re-harvest trees ... we don't need anything from Canada."
