I think there are also different weighted expectations. Wellens winning pushed UAE into more of team success but still, we expected the best from them. Ineos won two stages but it was the same guy and we expect more from them (why at this point?). Remco won then abandoned so the potential was lost.

Yea I think the course design this year was designed with drama in mind but didn’t take into account the toll it would have on the riders themselves. It ended up being either ride defensively or ride exhausted.
