As soon as my toes touched the grass of home, a new poem arrived. This one is a heartbreaker! Hope it finds its perfect home.

I’m a child of winter - I need the cold to think properly. Recently, poetry has felt easier for me, but in the heat I am returning to my novelist roots.

On hols where it is, frankly, too hot to inspire poetry, but fiction is working fine. Intriguing!

I go to name a female character, turning to the moons of Jupiter for inspiration…and one is called Kale! Not quite the dreamy time-travelling vibe I had in mind. #kale 😹 🥬
