getting the spec script done&then working on it until it’s “ready”—which I think means when you think it is done and then when the producers think it’s done—is a big step in the process because the fate of the script will come with more factors than I can worry about or even think of worrying about.

So many. Like drop in the ocean type cliche number of projects don’t get made. And yet, I still write. Writing is humbling in so many ways and yet I still write thinking “this is the one.” As do thousands of others. And it doesn’t matter if you write it in a weekend or in a year or in ten years.

It didn’t find a home. That said, it is the closest I have come to having a Hollywood movie made. Sure, the disappointment was there, but I learned so much during the journey (including stuff about myself). Now, I am sharing this not to name drop, but to share that this happens to so many projects.

In 2020, I wrote an original script (MUNGO) during a mentorship program at Imagine Entertainment. Under the mentorship of Kieran Mulroney, the script was optioned to Imagine Kids + Family and had Oscar-nominated Lasse Halstrom set to direct and Jacob Tremblay set to star. It was pitched around town.
