We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

Political violence from any party or any ideology is a direct assault on the foundations of democracy and the rule of law; it seeks not to persuade but to intimidate, not to debate but to destroy.

In every instance it corrodes the public trust, diminishes our shared institutions, and replaces reasoned discourse with fear and coercion.

Whatever our differences, they must be resolved through the peaceful exchange of ideas, the ballot box, and the institutions that safeguard our freedoms, not through threats, intimidation, or bloodshed.

Patriotism isn't about building walls, punishing immigrants, cutting taxes for the rich, attacking the press, or dividing us by race & faith.

True patriots don't pander to divisiveness or hate. They work to confirm the "WE" in "We the People of the United States."

A decent human being, like Obama, as president would be so refreshing.

Senator Ted Cruz posted a dramatic video of LAPD cars on fire with the caption “this… is… not… peaceful.” What he didn’t mention? The footage was from 2020, not 2025. His post on X falsely implied it was current, part of a broader effort to spread lies and manufacture a crisis.

@bestese34.bsky.social - Terry Moran - has been sidelined. The First Amendment has been under attack since 2016, and under Felon47 and his lackeys, it is now being obliterated. I hope @bestese34.bsky.social separates himself from mainstream media and continues to bring nonfake news to the masses.

The deployment of federalized National Guard troops to California, without consent from local or state officials, is deeply troubling. These are tactics seen in authoritarian regimes, not in America. We want to be clear, the military should not be used to police civilians.

The LAPD says there was no violence and they had things under control. The National Guard never even made it to their armories no matter clearing the streets. He’s declared victory and thinks he can dictate masks are illegal. This is a 2:41 AM lunatic post.

And some of the most impacted? Journalists, forced to repeatedly shout, “Don’t shoot, we’re just reporters,” as they were targeted with tear gas and crowd-control rounds.

Let’s look at the facts:
DHS claimed there were “about 1,000 rioters,” but Reuters couldn’t independently verify that number. Meanwhile, flash-bangs used against peaceful protesters ignited one of the fires captured in widely shared photos.

Reports and video show flash-bangs thrown into piles of debris just before a car caught fire, strongly suggesting it was law enforcement, not protesters, who sparked it. More details are coming. Don’t let them control the narrative. Thank you to everyone sharing footage, always record everything.

Facts:
- Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass both publicly stated they did not request National Guard assistance.
- Under normal circumstances, National Guard deployment requires state approval unless the Insurrection Act is invoked, which Trump has not done.

Pete Hegseth is now threatening to send the Marines into Los Angeles.

Make no mistake: this is a declaration of war against the United States.
