So I guess per the Cotton Doctrine a downed American aviator talking on his emergency radio or shooting flares is a legitimate target to be killed.

This asshole needs to be named and shamed. It appears he was preventing the delivery driver from getting into his car by shutting the door. I would consider that a physical threat/unlawful detention and react accordingly.

When did I say it was a boat running drugs? I never justified the strike. Even if it was loaded to the gunwales with fentanyl (which doesn't come from there anyway) attacking it is illegal under international and U.S. law.

I never said they were drug runners. That could be human smuggling. One doesn't take 11 people out on a fishing boat. BTW, fishing is fishing around the world.

A typical fishing boat would have a single engine. Somebody that has the means will run two engines so they aren't stranded if one fails.

I'm well aware that commercial fishing boats often have multiple engines. I used to build wood fishing boats not a lot unlike these for fishing in Alaska. None had four large engines on them with extra fuel carried loose in jugs. Pic of what I used to build many years ago.

This is allegedly the boat in question and these multi engine open boats are commonly used for smuggling. The number of engines is not consistent with fishing boats of a similar configuration. I’m not justifying the strike, just adding context.

Using this logic, if a combat aviator ejects from their aircraft, and while hanging in their parachute uses their emergency radio to call for help, they are now a legitimate target.

A lot of test aircraft are end of life aircraft that are just a few flight hours from the boneyard and end up there once testing is done.
