With the Rivian R2 coming very soon, many people have lost focus on R1. R1 won't be forgotten and I expect to see new features/updates hit R1 over the next year as well. There are still a lot of things they can do to keep R1 alive and in the news - look at the recent 1 of 1s and more.

Rivian was awarded a patent for a "system and method for providing useful information following an impact event". In the event of an accident, you can see critical information about the impact and share details - including video - right from the infotainment screen.

Today, Rivian was awarded a patent for a "vehicle HVAC drying mode". By the looks of the patent, it's specific to the EDV/RCV where you can dry your feet/legs using on-screen controls and HVAC. This seems like a must-have for wet/cold weather deliveries.

Rivian has been awarded a patent on the Gear Tunnel Duffel Bag. If you don't have one, they are perfect fits for the space and a nice-to-have.
