How we’re making data centers more flexible to benefit power grids An update on how we’re developing flexible data center capabilities to support power grids and build a sustainable, affordable energy system.

Very exciting to see Google step up on load flexibility of data centers. Hope we'll see other hyperscalers do the same. Critical for developing AI while maintaining reliable grids and reasonable electricity prices. (my blog: energyathaas.wordpress.com/2025/04/14/c...) πŸ”ŒπŸ’‘

Trump 'soft, weak and afraid' in firing labor statistics chief McEntarfer: Wyden Trump accused Erika McEntarfer of falsifying jobs report numbers before the 2024 election to boost Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris' chances.

Agree with @wyden.senate.gov, firing head of BLS after weak jobs report as, β€œthe act of somebody who is soft, weak and afraid to own up to the reality of the damage his chaos is inflicting on our economy.”

It has been the honor of my life to serve as Commissioner of BLS alongside the many dedicated civil servants tasked with measuring a vast and dynamic economy. It is vital and important work and I thank them for their service to this nation.

Correctβ€”continued higher price pressures AND strong growth would make rate increases the next step.

Correct, that is not the Fed’s job to consider the fiscal needs of the federal government. That is Congress’ job in deciding what to tax and spend.

Yes, agree tariffs are main reason your interest rates (including new mortgages) will remain higher.

I was an AC opponent.

Turns out it’s less energy expensive to remove heat from your home (AC!) than to add heat. Our puritanical focus on AC as a CO2 contributor could cost a lot of lives. More and more, AC be needed to will keep people alive and healthy. (Like heating is needed now.)

You’ve seen this movie before: Maybe Reagan guessed, Bush hoped, and Trump triedβ€”but tax cuts never paid for themselves. Given the mountain of evidence, claiming once again that "tax cuts will pay for themselves" is no longer ideologically motivated optimism.

It's a lie.

How Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill will raise household energy costs Analysts agree on one thing: Congress is poised to increase energy bills by hundreds of dollars per household.

Republicans don’t want you to know they’re raising your energy bills in their β€œbig, beautiful bill.”

Fed Governor Waller says central bank could cut rates as early as July The central banker said he and his colleagues should move slowly but start to ease as inflation is now longer a major threat.

I read this as Waller auditioning (to Trump) for Chair Powell’s job. not based on any solid research that I have seen, nor Fed’s own forward looking information (like beige book). Just wants to say what Trump wants to hear (NOT what good for economy) www.cnbc.com/2025/06/20/f...

Up to us to not let it get worse! Start including climate projections in your planning and cost benefit analysis, in your voting! It does not have to be this way! We have the power to mitigate and adapt. Only thing we should not do is business as usual.

Not a positive turn of events, forecasting lower growth amid higher inflation. Stagflation is not what you want. Means you cannot lower interest rates to boost growth.
